The Virginia Wesleyan University women's tennis team fell to Campbell University, 7-0.
Campbell claimed the early momentum by sweeping all three doubles matches to take the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles,
Jette Dammeier and
Mikisha Thomas fell 6-2 to Haylely Glen and Aubrey Carroll. The No. 2 pair of
Tuva Flink and
Zoe Vliegen dropped a 6-3 decision to Ilouna Aneca and Sonia Pieczynska, while
Jette Hafermann and
Lexi Hackbirth were defeated 6-0 in the No. 3 position.
In singles play, Campbell continued its strong performance, winning all six courts in straight sets.
Tuva Flink faced Sandra Mari Marti at the top spot, falling 6-0, 6-0.
Zoe Vliegen dropped her No. 2 singles match to Mollie Garcia by the same scoreline.
Jette Hafermann battled at No. 3 singles but was defeated 6-2, 6-1 by Sonia Pieczynska.
Meena Lennon competed at No. 4 singles, falling 6-0, 6-1 to Ilouna Aneca.
Lexi Hackbirth was defeated 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 position against Brooke Murphy, while
Sarah Reich fell 6-0, 6-0 to Haylely Glen at No. 6 singles.
