Women's Tennis Ranked Third in Coaches Poll

The Virginia Wesleyan University women's tennis team was voted third in the 2026 ODAC Coaches Poll, as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches. The Marlins received 98 points behind Washington and Lee in first place with 121 points and 11 first-place votes, and Averett in second with 111 points and one first-place vote. 

Last year, the Marlins finished with a 10-9 record and 7-3 in conference play to earn themselves the #4 seed in the ODAC Championship Tournament and defeated the #5 Seed Shenandoah to move on to the semifinals where VWU fell to the #1 Seed Washington and Lee. Last Season, the Marlins own Zoe Vliegen was named First Team All-Conference for the #2 Singles spot. 

The Marlins are also under new leadership, with the arrival of newly promoted James Moskowitz at the helm of the Men's and Women's Tennis teams.

The Marlins begin their 2026 spring season at home, hosting non-conference opponent Gettysburg on Wednesday, March 11th, with a start time set for 3:30 PM.
