Virginia Wesleyan University women's track and field athletes turned in solid performances at the JDL Fast Track Invitational.
In the women's 1000 meters, senior
Ella Clingenpeel placed 17th overall with a final time of 3:15.31, a performance that ranked 65th nationally among Division III competitors.
The women's 3000 meters saw freshman
Ester Zar finish 19th with a time of 10:37.68, while junior
Abigail Peck placed 23rd, completing the race in 10:59.44.
Anisah Kersey also competed in the women's 200 meters, where she recorded a 49th-place finish after crossing the line in 27.37 seconds.
The women's shot put featured sophomore
Bailey Schottin, who finished 19th with a throw of 10.04 meters. Junior
Zantia Durand followed with a 30th-place finish after posting a mark of 9.08 meters.
Alani Hampton rounded out her day in the women's triple jump, earning a 14th-place finish with a leap of 9.26 meters.
In the women's 60-meter preliminaries, senior
Anisah Kersey finished 60th overall with a time of 8.35 seconds, while junior
Katelyn Griffin followed closely behind, placing 62nd with a time of 8.39 seconds.
In the field events, freshman
Alani Hampton recorded a 32nd-place finish in the women's long jump with a best mark of 4.59 meters. Griffin also competed in the long jump, placing 33rd with a jump of 4.58 meters.
