Men's Track and Field Fared Well at the JDL Fast Track Invitational

The Virginia Wesleyan men's track and field team competed across a full slate of events at the JDL Fast Track Invitational.

Junior Jordan Fielder turned in a strong performance in the men's triple jump, placing seventh overall with a mark of 13.96 meters. In the men's weight throw, junior Malik Williams finished 26th with a throw of 7.45 meters.

The men's 1000 meters featured sophomore Fisher Stone, who placed 19th with a time of 2:41.98 in heat three, earning a new Division III national ranking of 76th. Senior Jerry Watson finished 27th with a time of 2:57.17 in the same heat, while junior Casey Black did not start.

In the field events, Little competed in the men's long jump and placed 36th with a leap of 5.44 meters. Freshman Will Hepburn placed 23rd in the men's shot put, recording a throw of 11.11 meters.

In the men's 60-meter preliminaries, junior Jordan Hall finished 54th overall with a time of 7.29 seconds in heat six. Sophomore Jacob Little followed closely behind, placing 66th with a time of 7.49 seconds in heat 10.

In the men's 60-meter hurdles preliminaries, sophomore Jasha Brewington did not finish his race in heat three, while junior Ja'Marri Henderson did not start in heat two.

The men's 200-meter race saw Brewington return to the track, as the sophomore placed 38th with a time of 23.37 seconds in heat eight. Hall was scheduled to compete in heat 12 but did not start.

In the men's 600 meters, junior Matthew Hodge placed 17th overall with a time of 1:32.58 in heat five. Freshman Henning Olofsson followed just behind, finishing 18th with a time of 1:36.02 in the same heat.

In the men's 3000 meters, Black returned to competition and placed 47th overall with a time of 9:48.66 in heat four. Watson followed with a 53rd-place finish, clocking 9:58.18 in the same heat.
