The Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team (2-6, 1-1 ODAC) defeated Randolph-Macon 7-0.
The Marlins claimed their first doubles win at the third spot where
Tudor Vlad and
Frieso ter Schiphorst refused to drop a game against Luis Geyne and Jett Hales.
Hovo Madanyan and
Sebastien Muller triumphed at #2 with a 6-1 win to secure the doubles point for VWU; and Rafael and
Carlos Rullan Zarraga also won 6-1 at the top spot.
In singles play, the Marlins dominated as
Hovo Madanyan was first to finish with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6. Next to finish was
Sebastien Muller who defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-1 at #3. At the second and fourth lines, Rafael and
Carlos Rullan Zarraga both won without losing a single game.
Tudor Vlad won in the same fashion at #1; and it was
Sainandan Challagundla who completed the 7-0 Marlin sweep with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at #5.
Next, the Marlins will host Frostburg State University on Wednesday, March 19, at 3:30 p.m. for their first home match of the season.
