The Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team (4-5, 2-2 ODAC) captured a 6-1 victory over conference opponent, Shenandoah University.
In doubles play,
Zoe Vliegen and
Mikisha Thomas sped their way to a 6-1 win at #3; they were quickly followed by
Tuva Flink and
Jette Hafermann at the top position, who won by a score of 6-2. Despite a 7-6 (6) loss at #2, the Marlins earned the doubles point to lead 1-0 overall.
The Marlins dominated singles play with straight set victories at positions two through six.
Tuva Flink battled hard at the top spot in singles but came up just short against her opponent 6-4, 7-5.
Next, the Marlins will travel to Christopher Newport University on Saturday, April 5, at noon.
