The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team (3-3) defeated Franciscan in Overtime 11-10 for their third win of the season.
Jackson Dinger scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the Marlins with five total goals in the game, nine shots, and one caused turnover.
Daniel Auxier scored two goals on five shots and teammate

The game began with Virginia Wesleyan striking first.
Ben Andrews found the back of the net at 13:56 in the first quarter to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead. However, Franciscan quickly answered netting the equalizer just over a minute later at 12:58. The first quarter continued to be tightly contested, the Barons scored a goal at 11:43 to put them ahead, 2-1. Franciscan scored again to extend the lead to 3-1. Jackson Dinger scored unassisted with just 1:25 remaining, narrowing the score to 3-2.
In the second quarter, Franciscan maintained its lead. Joseph James scored unassisted at 12:41 to make it 4-2. Virginia Wesleyan fought back, with
Daniel Auxier cutting the deficit to 4-3 at 8:56 and Dinger scoring again at 5:34 to tie the game at 4-4. Franciscan regained the lead at 4:03 on an extra-man opportunity, bringing the score to 5-4.
Franciscan came out of the half strong extended its lead to 6-4 early, on an extra-man opportunity at 14:20. However, Virginia Wesleyan wasn't done yet. Dinger and Cooper Seider combined to pull the Marlins within one at 12:38, and Seider tied the game at 11:45 with an unassisted goal. Franciscan responded with two quick goals, to give the Barons an 8-6 lead. With only eight seconds left in the quarter,
George Psaltis scored unassisted to make it 8-7 heading into the final period in regulation.
In the fourth quarter, Franciscan looked to extend its lead, and scored a goal at 12:57, giving the Barons a 9-7 advantage. However, the Marlins responded quickly, with Dinger scoring his fourth goal of the game at 11:39 to make it 9-8. VWU then tied the game at 9-9 with an Auxier's goal at 5:05. The game continued to swing back and forth with a Baron goal putting them ahead once more at 3:59. However, Andrews tied the game for the Marlins with an unassisted goal at 1:03 to force overtime.
In the overtime period, Dinger completed his remarkable performance with a game-winning goal at 2:05, lifting Virginia Wesleyan to an 11-10 overtime victory.
