The Virginia Wesleyan men's tennis team (1-6, 0-1 ODAC) traveled to Salisbury University for dual match competition and lost 7-0.
Despite a clutch 7-5 doubles win by
Tudor Vlad and
Frieso ter Schiphorst at #3 over Gurv Suri and Aron Burszystyn, the Sea Gulls won at the top two spots by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 to secure the doubles point.
Salisbury swept singles play, winning in straight sets at every spot except #5 where
Carlos Rullan Zarraga battled from a set down against Nick O'Dea; he won the second set by a score of 6-1 but fell in the third set ten point tiebreaker 10-6.
Rafael Rullan Zarraga had a close match at the second slot where he lost to Jhayden Pappas 6-4, 6-4.
Next Saturday, March 8, the Marlins will travel to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia for their first ODAC match of the season with start time set at 1:00 p.m.
