Women's Swimming Falls to Bridgewater in Dual Meet

Virginia Wesleyan women's swimming turned in several strong performances against Bridgewater.

The 400-meter medley relay team of Suzanna Fernandez, Lana Macchi, Lora Young, and Emery Garza finished second with a time of 4:57.17.

In the 200-meter freestyle, Sarah Czapp took second with a time of 2:29.86, followed closely by Ally Peck in third at 2:34.93. Macchi earned third in the 50-meter freestyle (30.22), and Fernandez placed fourth (32.10). Erin Beaudry placed second in the 200-meter individual medley, clocking in at 2:50.18, while Abigail Carlson followed in third at 2:53.02.

In the 100-meter freestyle, Czapp once again led VWU with a third-place finish at 1:10.51, with Peck right behind in fourth at 1:11.94. Garza captured first place in the 200-meter backstroke with an impressive time of 2:32.31, while Fernandez (2:46.46) and Beaudry (2:46.77) finished third and fourth respectively.

Lora Young took second in the 400-meter freestyle at 5:18.71, and Ella Boal added a fourth-place finish with a 5:44.19. Carlson earned a runner-up spot in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 3:09.72. The 400-meter freestyle relay team of Macchi, Carlson, Czapp, and Garza earned second place with a time of 4:27.30, while the team of Beaudry, Peck, Boal, and Young finished third in 4:47.51.
