A trio of personal bests highlighted a standout day for the Virginia Wesleyan women's cross country team at the NCAA South Region Championships, led by freshman Ester Zar, who earned All-Region accolades for placing 35th at Regionals.

Zar placed 35th overall, running a 6k personal record of 23:23.40, marking one of the highest regional finishes by a VWU freshman in recent seasons. Sophomore Abby Peck added a second PR for the Marlins, placing 51st with a time of 24:02.10, capping a strong sophomore campaign.

Junior Ella Clingenpeel kept the momentum going with her own personal record, finishing 104th in 25:51.50. Sophomore Ella Darcy completed the Marlins' scoring positions, placing 154th with a time of 28:52.60.

Behind multiple career-best performances and a rising young core, the Marlins closed the regional meet with one of their most encouraging postseason outings of the year.
