The Virginia Wesleyan women's cross country team delivered a standout performance at the VSU Cross Country Challenge, highlighted by a historic race from first-year runner Ester Zar.
Zar finished second overall with a time of 19:37.67, a mark that now ranks second all-time in program history for the 5K distance.
Sophomore Abby Peck added to the Marlins' strong showing, placing eighth overall with a time of 20:59.21, which ranks 14th in school history. Kayla Kozella rounded out VWU's top three, finishing 20th in 23:42.11
