The Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team (14-3-2, 8-1-1 ODAC) punched its ticket to the ODAC semifinals with a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over #7 Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon at Foster Field at the Tassos Paphitis Soccer Complex.
After a hard-fought 90 minutes of scoreless play, the Marlins broke through in the 99th minute with 23 seconds left on the clock when
Courtney Mills found the back of the net off a beautiful assist from
Kaylyn Seitz. Mills' third goal of the season sealed the win.
The Marlins dominated offensively, out shooting Lynchburg 19-7, including a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal. VWU also held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks and maintained consistent pressure throughout the match.

Allie Greco recorded five saves to secure her ninth shutout of the year, while the back line anchored by
Stephanie Koblish,
Paige Bissell, and
Alex Ortega held strong to keep Lynchburg off the scoreboard.
The Marlins will return to action on Wednesday, November 5, for the ODAC Semifinals. Match time and opponent are to be determined.
