Virginia Wesleyan Drops Tight 1-0 Match to Yellow Jackets

The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team (7-3-1, 1-2 ODAC) came up just short on the road, falling 1-0 to Randolph-Macon in a defensive showdown.

Seth Brown played all 90 minutes in net for the Marlins, had two saves, and allowed one goal. JaMarhe Wills led the team with four shot, two shots on goal through 83 minutes of play.

The Marlins and Yellow Jackets were locked in a scoreless battle through more than 70 minutes of play, with both defenses holding firm against steady attacking pressure. Virginia Wesleyan generated nine total shots in the contest, including four on goal, and earned six corner kicks to Randolph-Macon's three.

Randolph-Macon broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute to put them ahead 1-0. Despite the goal, the Marlins continued to press forward in the closing minutes, creating several looks on net, but were unable to convert the equalizer.
