The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team (0-1-1) was defeated by Ohio Nothern University 1-0.
The first half was hard-fought, as both teams' defenses held strong, only allowing one shot on goal through 45 minutes of play.
The Marlins made some halftime adjustments and were able to put more pressure on the Ohio Northern defense with two shots on goal in the second half. However, the Polar Bears scored in the 71st minute to go up 1-0. VWU pushed for an equalizer before the end of the second half, but the ONU defense held strong and sealed the 1-0 win.
