Katherine Druiett had the game-winning assist and recorded three shots on goal, and
Isabelle Rogers had an assist off the bench and tallied one shot on net.
Berkley Miller recorded her sixth win of the year, allowed two goals, made three saves in 53:12 minutes of playing time,
DJ Holsclaw played the fourth quarter allowed zero goals and made two saves to force overtime.
The Marlins started strong as they tallied four shots and two penalty corners in the first ten minutes of play. At the 10:31 mark, Virginia Wesleyan was awarded a penalty stroke that was converted by
Lauren Hedspeth to put the Marlins up 1-0.
In the second quarter, the Knights tied up the game with six minutes before the break. At halftime, the Marlins out shot the Knights 9-3 with six shots on goal compared to the Knights' two shots on goal.
Neumann took the lead in the third quarter to go up 2-1.
The Marlins fought hard in the fourth quarter, resulting in a goal with less than seven minutes left in the game.

Virginia Wesleyan turned up the heat in extra time putting four shots on goal and winning a penalty corner at the 69th minute of play. Hedspeth played the corner to
Katherine Druiett who shot the ball at the goal and Hedspeth deflected the shot to the right to beat the keeper and give the Marlins the overtime win.
