The Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team (0-2-2) tied non-conference opponent Mary Washington 1-1.
Virginia Wesleyan played well in the first half as
Alexis Manfredi scored a goal in the 24th minute of play to lead 1-0. UMW had their fair share of chances as they outshot the Marlins 5-3 but the Marlins were more clinical and held a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Mary Washington's offense stepped up in the second half applying more pressure to the Marlins' defense recording eight shots compared to the Marlins' two. UMW was rewarded as they tied the game with a goal in the 83rd minute of play.
