The Virginia Wesleyan University field hockey team (12-5, 4-4 ODAC) was defeated by Washington and Lee 2-0 in the final regular season game of the 2024 season.
The 2024 Field Hockey team secured a #5 Seed in the 2024 Field Hockey ODAC Championship Tournament for the first time since 2016. The Marlins will head on the road on Tuesday to face Washington and Lee in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Championship Tournament.
Berkley Miller was excellent in net, played the full 60 minutes, allowed two goals, and recorded nine saves.
Katherine Druiett had four shots with three on net, and
Landry Meyer had three shots with one on-target.
It was a hard-fought game where the Generals came out on top. The host scored one goal in the 2nd minute of the game to go up 1-0 and scored a second goal in the 20th minute to lead 2-0.
The Marlins pushed hard in the second quarter, taking five shots, with four on-target, and had a 3-1 advantage in penalty corners but were unable to break down the Generals' defense.
