VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams were challenged on Sunday, January 8, when they competed at the 2023 Rams Indoor Invitational hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). The meet consisted of primarily Division 1 competitors with VWU being one of two Division 3 programs in attendance.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
The Meet consisted of mainly Division 1 opponents including VCU, Hampton, Norfolk State, Howard, and Bowie State, with Division 2 programs St. Augustine's and Virginia State, Division 3 schools Virginia Wesleyan and Regent, and JUCO Richard Bland in attendance as well.
Carlos Lamoso had a big personal record in the men's weight throw improving from 9.13M to 11.65M.
Tarrian Smith was .03M off of tying the VWU record of 1.95M in the men's high jump which has set him fourth in the South Region and tied for 24th in the National ranks.

The Marlins return to the track this weekend as they head to Lexington, VA, to compete at the VMI Invitational hosted by the Keydets of Virginia Military Institute. The meet spans Friday, January 13, and Saturday, January 14.
