FERRUM, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell to the Panthers of Ferrum College 57-45 on Saturday afternoon in Ferrum, VA. The Marlins were led by
Adaje Williams with 12 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were neck and neck through the first four points, but Ferrum pulled slightly ahead 8-4 by the 3:22 mark. A pair of free throws from
Adaje Williams put Virginia Wesleyan within two, 8-6, but the Panthers held the Marlins off the scoreboard for the remainder of the first quarter while scoring five more of their own to lead 13-6 heading into the second quarter.
The Marlins added six more points in the second quarter and trailed by 18 points at halftime with the score sitting at 30-12.
VWU came out in the third quarter scoring 17 points with
Jada Norman scoring eight points. The Panthers added 18 points to their score leading 48-29 heading into the final 10 minutes quarter.
Logan Carter hit a pair of three-pointers in the fourth quarter for six points while
Sarah Ellis added five to help VWU outscore FC 16-9 in the final frame of action. In the end the Marlins fell by 12-points, 57-45.
