VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams continued their strong showing on the track and in field events on Saturday, January 21, when they hosted the 2023 Blue Marlin Invitational.
Geni Roberts highlighted the day with a huge PR in the men's triple jump as he broke his own school record of 14.69M with a mark of 14.92M.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
The quote "PRs all day today at the Marlins Invitational" was used by the athletes and coaches of the Virginia Wesleyan track and field teams. Twenty-seven PRs fell between the men's and the women's team at the Marlin Invitational.
Mackenzie Swanson set a new PR in the women's weight throw with a distance of 8.09M, and
Ke'Juanna Smith with a mark of 6.95M.
In the men's 60M dash,
Jonathan Moon locked in a PR of 7.36, and
Domenic Crosswell made his debut with a time of 7.31.

Freshman
Jordan Hall set a new PR in the men's high jump with a jump of 1.77M.
Jalen Davis and
Casey Lang both set new PRs in the men's shot put with distances of 11.99M and 9.39M respectively.
Norah Ciano competed in her first pentathlon multi meet and scored 2259 points. She competed in the 60M hurdles, 800M run, high jump, long jump, and shot put. Her mark of 1.54M in the high jump is a new PR.
Freshman
Ryan Koval ran a new PR of 4:51.50 in the men's mile.
All the ladies that ran in the 400M race set new PRs with
Julia Hathaway running a 1:00.05,
Amia Barnes running a 1:01.47, and
Casey Stedman running a 1:04.12.
The men's 800m runners gathered up some PRs
Deric Washington running a 2:04.60,
Andrew Powers running a 2:11.49, and
Jerry Watson running a 2:21.66.
Julius Jacobs picked up a new 200M PR running a time of 23.75.
Ke'Juanna Smith earned a PR in the women's shot put with a throw of 6.93M.
Junior
James Johnson set a huge PR in the men's 3000M with a time of 9:33.59 dropping 17 seconds off of his previous best time of 9:50.64.
The day finished with the women's 4x400M relay of
Amia Barnes,
Julia Hathaway,
Casey Stedman, and
Yadeja Britton who ran a PR of 4:13.34. A time that leads the ODAC Conference.
