The Virginia Wesleyan University women's track and field program received national recognition as Ester Zar earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors for the 2026 outdoor season.

Zar collected All-Region recognition in the 10,000-meter run following a standout freshman campaign for the Marlins. She posted a season-best time of 36:34.44 at the Bison Outdoor Classic, a performance that ranked 62nd nationally among NCAA Division III competitors this season.

The freshman distance runner continued to establish herself as one of the top emerging talents in the region throughout the outdoor season, consistently delivering strong performances against competitive fields.

The USTFCCCA awards All-Region distinction to the top five individuals in each event from every region, along with members of the region's top-three relay teams. Zar's honor adds another postseason accolade for the Virginia Wesleyan women's track and field program and highlights the continued growth of the Marlins distance squad.
