LEXINGTON, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams showed well on Friday and Saturday, January 13-14, when they competed at the 2023 VMI Invitational hosted by Virginia Military Institute (VMI). The meet consisted of primarily Division 1 and 3 programs.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
The Meet consisted of mainly Division 1 & 3 opponents including Hampton, George Mason, East Tennessee State, Morgan State, and VMI representing the Division 1 programs in attendance. The Division 3 schools included CNU, EMU, Ferrum, Mary Baldwin, NC Wesleyan, Lynchburg, Southern Virginia, and Virginia Wesleyan.
The men's 4x400 meter relay ran a time of 3:27.56, which is the 30th fastest time in all of Division 3 this season.
Geni Roberts jump of 14.41M in the triple jump event lands him 6th in the nation in men's TJ. He still holds first national in the long jump with his 7.26M mark set at the CNU Holiday Open (Dec. 3). His jump of 7.21M would tie for third if he did not already hold first.
UP NEXT
The Marlins return to the track next weekend as they host a pair of meets, the Marlin Invitational and the Blue Marlin Invitational, on Friday and Saturday, January 20-21.
