VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan men's basketball team fell to the Generals of Washington & Lee University 65-48 on Saturday afternoon at TowneBank Arena in Virginia Beach, VA.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It took the teams three and a half minutes to find the scoreboard as the Generals put a layup in at the 17:32 mark. The Marlins scored next to even things up and went on to take a 7-5 lead following a made three-pointer from
Miles Wallace. A few minutes later the Marlins increased their lead to six points, 12-6 following a three from
Omari DeVeaux with 14:48 on the clock. Washington & Lee went on an 8-2 run to even the score at 14 all with 7:27 remaining in the first half. The teams were even at 23 all with 4:31 on the clock. The Generals took a four-point lead, 27-23, with just over a minute remaining in the half, but
Jordan Crump scored four points for the Marlins to even the score as the teams went into halftime tied at 27 all.
The teams traded three-pointers to begin the second half but Washington & Lee quickly got out to a 10-point lead, 40-30 (15:44), and held on to the double-digit advantage the remainder of the game. Virginia Wesleyan scored just 18 points throughout the rest of the contest following the Generals gaining the 10-point lead.
Joey Lee, who played just four minutes, hit back-to-back three-pointers for VWU to lead the five Marlin scorers in final 15 minutes.
Amarion Wilson tallied five points, while Crump scored one more three-pointer in that time. DeVeaux and
Eric Rowland both scored one basket each.
