Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team defeated the Falcons of Pfeiffer University 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Tassos Paphites Soccer Complex in Virginia Beach, VA.

FIRST HALF
- The first half of the contest saw the teams fighting for possession in a back-and-forth battle that remained scoreless at the half.
- VWU managed to get off seven shots while PU only got off four.
SECOND HALF
- Just a few minutes into the return of play, the Marlins received a corner kick that lined them up for success. Caleb Jackson scored his first career goal after heading down the corner kick in from Everett McCloskey putting VWU up 1-0 in the 49th minute.
- A little over ten minutes later, Virginia Wesleyan was granted a penalty kick as Nate Mitchell was fouled at the top of the goal box. In the one-on-one shot with the keeper, Mitchell shot the ball in the bottom right corner while the keeper went left putting VWU up 2-0.
- Neither team found the back of the net for the remainder of the contest despite the Marlins twice hitting the posts and the Falcons getting some good looks at Griffin Potter's cage.
