INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Hornets took control of the game from the beginning, scoring five goals in the first quarter while adding eight in the second quarter to take a 13-0 lead into the halftime break. The Marlins managed to get nine shots off while the Hornets accumulated 37 shots in the opening two quarters.
Shenandoah came out of the break to add three more to their total before Virginia Wesleyan found the scoreboard with a trio of goals that put the score at 16-3. Joey Rayman scored the first VWU goal off a pass from Jackson Dinger. The other two Marlin goals came from Sam Edwards and Nathan Sheirburn, both unassisted. SU added two more to close out the third quarter with an 18-3 lead.
The fourth quarter saw five goals in total scored, three for the Hornets and two for the Marlins. Mark Sprague scored one unassisted at the 11:10 mark, while Sheirburn added his second of the game off a pass from Dinger. In the end, Shenandoah claimed the 21-5 win.

The men's lacrosse team is back in action on Saturday, April 9, when they return home to Birdsong Field for Spring Alumni weekend during which they will host the Panthers of Ferrum College. Face off between the Marlins and Panthers is set on 1 PM.
