NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2022 Indoor Track & Field All-Region honorees on Tuesday afternoon in advance of the 2022 NCAA Indoor National Championship Meet to be held later this week in Winston-Salem, NC. Three Marlins earned recognition in four different events, while all three return to the All-Region team for at least the second time in their careers.
Jaylyn Lane,
Landry Moffo, and
Geni Roberts all garnered post-season All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA and all three have qualified to compete at the 2022 NCAA Indoor National Championship Meet.
Lane earned laurels in the women's 200M Dash, long jump and triple jump. She will compete at National in the women's triple jump. The Portsmouth, VA, native won the long and triple jump events at the 2022 ODAC Indoor Championship Meet and finished third in the women's 60M dash running the race in 7.93 seconds. Lane ranks fifth in the South Region in the women's 200M Dash, third in the long jump and first in the triple jump.
Moffo's honors come in the men's 60M Hurdles, an event which he claimed first in at the 2022 ODAC Indoor Championship Meet while also setting a new conference and conference championship meet record with his time of 8.09 seconds. Moffo ranks first in the South Region in the men's 60M Hurdles and earned his first trip to nationals this weekend.
Roberts earns his second trip to indoor nationals to compete in the long and triple jumps. The Ridgely, MD native won both events at the 2022 ODAC Indoor Championship Meet for the second time in his career. He sits first in the South Region in the men's triple jump and second in the region in the long jump.
Roberts and Lane both qualified for nationals in 2020 but the trip was cut short due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020. There were no indoor nationals in 2021.
