BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team fell 14-5 in their road matchup at Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday afternoon.

The Marlins scored first on a man-up opportunity from Chris Lindemeyer but the Panthers responded with a 4-0 run to close out the first quarter taking a 4-1 lead into the second. BCS added three more goals in the early part of the second quarter going up 7-1 before Jackson Dinger scored for the Marlins off an assisted pass from Joey Rayman. Birmingham-Southern added one more goal before the half taking an 8-2 lead into the break.
The Panthers started off the third quarter with a goal going up 9-2 before the Marlins added back-to-back goals from Mark Sprague to pull within five goals, 9-4, with seven minutes left to play. Each team added one more goal in the third with the Marlins goal coming from the net of Lindemeyer as the teams went into the fourth quarter with the score sitting at 10-5.
Birmingham-Southern secured their win with four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter going on to win 14-5.
