Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team fell to the No. 22 Generals of Washington & Lee University 6-1 on Wednesday evening in the semifinal round of the 2022 ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament in Lexington, VA. With the loss comes the end of the Marlins men's soccer season.

FIRST HALF
The Generals struck early coming out of the gate two score twice in the first six minutes of the contest. WLU added a third goal about 10 minutes later to hold a 3-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes of action. Following the third goal, the teams remained scoreless the rest of the first half with the Generals taking 10 shots and holding the Marlins to zero shot attempts.
SECOND HALF
Washington & Lee started the second half scoring their fourth goal 30 seconds into the resumption of play. Virginia Wesleyan broke onto the scoreboard in the 59th minute as sophomore
Josh Condit hit the back of the net following a pass from
Zach Bittler which put the score at 4-1. In the following five minutes, the Generals added two more goals increasing their lead to a five-goal advantage. The Marlins took three shots throughout the second half as the Generals controlled the match claiming the win 6-1.

Virginia Wesleyan's season comes to a close in the ODAC semifinal game. The team will return to the pitch next season.
