VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The No. 21 Virginia Wesleyan women's soccer team defeated the Hollins University women's soccer team 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Tassos Paphites Soccer Complex in Virginia Beach, Va. Seven different Marlins scored in the 9-0 victory.

FIRST HALF
- Virginia Wesleyan wasted no time at all finding the back of the net as junior forward Julia Marrone (2nd goal) put the ball past the Hollins keeper 5:28 into the match.
- Seven minutes later, the Marlins increased their lead by a goal putting the score at 2-0, after Alexis Miller (3rd goal) scored off the assist from Shyenne Diaz (2nd assist).
- Just a minute later, Miller (4th assist) connected with Alex Agee (1 goal) who sent the ball into the back of the goal for the third score of the match.
- The next two goals came from Olivia Bryant who connected with the back of the net in the 21st and 25th minutes, her second and third goals of the season.
- Virginia Wesleyan's last three goals of the opening half came in the final five minutes from Emma Acanfora (2nd goal), Agee (2nd goal), and Grayson Yeager (4th goal).
- The Marlins took 27 shots in the first half.
SECOND HALF
- After the teams came out of the break there were about 15 minutes of play where the teams went back and forth up the field.
- Virginia Wesleyan ended the stalemate of the second half with a goal in the 60th from Miranda Conroy (1) who kicked the ball in putting the Marlins up 9-0.
- The remainder of the match saw the teams go up and down the field with Hollins getting off one shot while the Marlins took five.
