Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team defeated the Panthers of Ferrum College on a 1-0 shut out on Saturday evening at the Tassos Paphites Soccer Complex in Virginia Beach, VA.

FIRST HALF
Nearly forty minutes of the first half went by without either team finding the back of the net as the teams played the ball up and down the field. The Marlins in the 39th minute found the back of the net off a corner kick as Caleb Jackson headed the pass off the corner from Noah Fowler past the Panther keeper for the goal. VWU took their 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

SECOND HALF
Ferrum came out of the break eager to find the back of the net, controlling possession of the ball for the first 20 minutes of the half. Virginia Wesleyan claimed the shift in momentum and controlled possession the second half of the 45 minute period. Neither team, however, managed to find the back of the net despite VWU taking six shots and FC getting off eight.

Virginia Wesleyan is back in action on Wednesday evening when they hit the road heading to Hampden-Sydney, VA to face the Tigers of H-SC. Kick-off between the Tigers and Marlins is set for 7 PM.
