FIRST HALF
- The teams went back and forth through the first 30 minutes of action when the Marlins found a spark off the foot of Jaron Berry who connected with the back of the net in the 33rd minute of play. Berry wrangled the ball off a deflected Michael Nocera pass to put the ball in the goal giving VWU a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
SECOND HALF
- The teams battled the entire second half with neither gaining any ground until VWU found a second goal from Scott Signorelli to go ahead 2-0 with under two minutes to play resulting in a VWU win 2-0.
KEY STATS
- Scott Signorelli, Nathan Mitchell, and Jaron Berry each recorded two shots in the match.
- Both teams were pretty even in their shot attempts with the Marlins recording 10 shots while the Monarchs took 13.
