Box Score LYNCHBURG, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's volleyball team swept the WildCats of Randolph College in straight sets on Tuesday evening at Giles Gymnasium in Lynchburg, VA.

MATCH RECAP
After trading the opening serves back and forth, the Marlins went on a 7-2 run taking a 9-4 lead into a Randolph timeout. VWU opened a seven point lead, 14-7, following a 5-3 run, and extended it to 10 points, 20-10, after a 6-3 rally. The Marlins closed out the opening set scoring five points to RC's two putting the final tally at 25-12.
Six kills and two aces contributed in the Marlins 12-3 rally to open the second set. VWU opened an 11 point lead, 16-5, following four consecutive kills. Virginia Wesleyan tallied seven kills throughout the remainder of the set as the Marlins took set two 25-12.
The two squads went back and forth several times and sat tied at four-four through the early serves of the third set. Four errors by the WildCats gave the Marlins a four-point lead, 8-4, but RC pulled within three a few times, last at 17-14, before VWU closed the set on an 8-0 rally, including four kills and two aces, to win 25-14 and taking the match in three sets.
