NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's cross country team finished fifth as a whole at the Christopher Newport University Invitational hosted at the Lee Hall Mansion just off of Interstate 64 in Newport News, VA.

INSIDE THE RACE
Emily Petsko placed the highest finishing 32nd with a time of 27:56.40 for the 6K race. Haley Witt finished 35th overall in a time of 28:08.10, while Marranda Hansford finished 43rd in 29:57.50. Jessica Wilson and Holly Hatter rounded out the Marlins team with finishes of 49th and 58th respectively.

UP NEXT
The Marlins return to the course next weekend when they travel up to Winchester, VA, to compete at the Hornet Harrier Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University.
