BALTIMORE, Maryland - The Virginia Wesleyan track and field teams sent a handful of athletes to compete at the Johns Hopkins Charm City Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland to better position themselves at a shot to compete at the NCAA National Meet later this month.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
Geni Roberts claimed a first place finish in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.97M and took second in the triple jump coming in at 14.13M.
Michael Gatling finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 13.19M while also competing in the men's 110M hurdles where he claimed a third place finish as well (16.67).
Landry Moffo finished second ahead of Gatling in the 110M hurdles with a time of 15.29 while
CJ Govan finished fourth in the men's discus throw with a mark of 40.36M.
On the ladies side,
Shirell Washington took fourth in the 100M hurdles finishing in 15.71, while
Jaylyn Lane took first in the 100M dash finishing with a record breaking time of 12.49. The old record of 12.63 was recorded by Shakira Mills in 2015 at the Aggie Invitational.
