Roberts and Lane break VWU jumps records on day one of ODAC Outdoor Championships

LYNCHBURG, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams completed day one of the 2021 ODAC Outdoor Championships in Lynchburg, VA on Friday afternoon. Two Virginia Wesleyan outdoor track and field program records fell on day one in the men's and women's long jump.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
Jaylyn Lane broke the Virginia Wesleyan long jump record of 5.34M set by Rholanda Taylor at the 2018 ODAC Outdoor Championships with her mark of 5.45M. Her distance of 5.45M placed her second in the event on the day.

Geni Roberts smashed his old long jump school record of 6.96M set earlier this season with a first place jump of 7.19M which places him seventh in the nation among Division III athletes.

CJ Govan took third in the shot put with a mark of 13.20M and was ninth in the hammer throw with a distance of 37.89M.

Skyler Lattuca finished tenth in the men's 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:16.01.

Landry Moffo advances to the 110M hurdles on Sunday after finishing 3rd with a time of 15.07. Michael Gatling was not far behind with a fifth place result with a time of 16.01.
