Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan baseball team dropped their single midweek game against the No. 17 Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College on Tuesday afternoon at Kenneth R. Perry Field at TowneBank Park in Virginia Beach, VA.

GAME RUNDOWN
Randolph-Macon got the scoring started with a trio of runs in the top of the first inning. They held that lead until the Marlins found their first run of the game in the bottom of the third as a Connor Hall double to left field scored Matt Dagostino putting the score at 3-1.
VWU scored again in the bottom of the fifth as Hall again drove in Dagostino on an RBI single up the middle putting the score at 3-2 and Samuel Kasprow scored in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch to knot the score at three all.
RMC broke the tie in the top of the seventh as four crossed the plate to give the Yellow Jackets a 7-3 lead. They added two more in the top of the eighth going up 9-3 but the Marlins responded with two in the bottom half to close the gap to four runs 9-5. A long single by Matthew Culbert in the bottom of the eighth score Dagostino and Nick Price.
The Yellow Jackets scored two more in the top of the ninth leading 11-5 heading into the last frame and the Marlins were unable to take advantage of the lead off batter reaching first as they fell to RMC.
KEY STATS
- Connor Hall and Matthew Culbert both drove in a pair of RBIs each.
- Matt Dagostino scored three times in the game for the Marlins.
- Adam Brooks threw five and two/thirds innings giving up three runs on four hits while striking out five.
- Dominick Spinoso (L: 0-1) threw an inning and a third and gave up four runs on one hit.
