The Virginia Wesleyan baseball program had one player named to the 2026 ODAC All-Conference Team. Junior first baseman Gino Meienschein earned Third Team All-ODAC recognition following a standout 2026 campaign.
Meienschein was one of the top offensive producers in the conference this season, leading the Marlins with a .409 batting average while starting all 39 games at first base. He totaled 56 hits, 40 runs scored, 28 RBI, eight doubles, one triple, and four home runs while posting a .569 slugging percentage and an impressive .534 on-base percentage.
A consistent presence in the middle of the Virginia Wesleyan lineup, Meienschein also showcased exceptional plate discipline, drawing 22 walks while being hit by pitch 15 times. He struck out just 10 times across 137 at-bats and added 11 stolen bases on the year.
Defensively, Meienschein anchored the Marlins at first base with a .989 fielding percentage, recording 263 putouts and helping turn 24 double plays during the season.
His all-conference selection caps off a strong season for Virginia Wesleyan, as the Marlins finished the 2026 campaign with a 20-20 overall record and a 10-10 mark in ODAC play.
