FOREST, Virginia - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced the field for the 2020-21 women's volleyball tournament that begins Wednesday, April 28. The Virginia Wesleyan Marlins claimed the No. 2 seed behind the top seeded Generals of Washington and Lee. Virginia Wesleyan finished the season 9-3 overall and 9-2 against ODAC opponents, falling only to W&L and Randolph-Macon.
VWU has been lead this season by
Greta Coss and
Nadia Scott on attack with 140 and 119 kills respectively. Coss recently eclipsed the 1,000 career kill mark in the match at Roanoke last week. Coss also leads the team in blocks with 34 on the season including 15 solo and 19 assists.
Haley Sutton has led the team in assists at the starting setter with 269 assists and also leads the team in service aces with 26, including 10 against Eastern Mennonite, a match during which she recorded a triple double (22 assists/10 service aces/10 digs). Leading the back line is defensive specialist
Cara Caruso with 173 digs with Scott and
Hannah Zimmerman not far behind with 155 and 150 digs respectively.
The Marlins will host the Hornets of Shenandoah university on Wednesday, April 28, at 5 PM in TowneBank Arena at the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Fans can follow the game via

live broadcast. In the match earlier this season against the Hornets the Marlins won in straight sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-16) at Shenandoah on March 16. VWU tallied 42 kills as a team on 99 attacks hitting 31.3%. Virginia Wesleyan tallied nine service aces and six assisted blocks as well as 52 digs and 37 assists.
