Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 21 Generals of Washington and Lee University on Saturday afternoon in conference action at Birdsong Field in Virginia Beach, VA.

Washington and Lee came out of the gates scoring four goals in the first five minutes of play. The Generals added two more goals before the Marlins found their first goal on an unassisted shot from Nathan Sheirburn putting the score at 6-1 with three minutes left in the first quarter.
W&L controlled the attack in the second quarter scoring seven goals on 17 shots while holding VWU to nine shots as the teams entered the halftime break with the score at 13-1.
The Marlins came out of the break scoring the first two goals of the second half as Cole Maguire scored back to back unassisted goals putting the score at 13-3. WLU took an 11 goal lead again, 14-3, before Maguire scored his third goal of the game. The Generals added two more goals taking a 16-4 lead before Michael Stumpf scored his first goal of the game with 27 seconds left in the third quarter as the teams headed into the final quarter with the score at 16-5.
Washington and Lee scored six goals in the fourth taking a 22-5 lead before Virginia Wesleyan's Chris Lindemeyer scored off the pass from Trevor Lalande with five minutes to play. The Generals scored twice more before the time expired putting the final score 24-6.
