FIRST SET
- Virginia Wesleyan started the match off hot taking a 7-0 lead over Randolph-Macon.
- Macon climbed back on an 8-5 run putting the score at 12-8 in Wesleyan's favor.
- The Marlins answered with a 9-2 rally taking a 21-10 lead over the Yellow Jackets.
- RMC scored eight more points in the opening set but VWU managed to find the four they needed to take set one 25-18.
SECOND SET
- The Yellow Jackets held the early 6-3 lead after nine serves went up.
- Randolph-Macon took off on a 10-2 rally taking a 16-5 lead over Virginia Wesleyan.
- The Marlins scored three in a row to cut the Yellow Jacket lead to eight points, 16-8, but RMC closed out the set on an 8-3 run to win set two 25-11 and knot the match score at one set each.
THIRD SET
- The two teams were evenly matched through the early serves of set three as the score was tied at seven all after 14 services.
- The score remained tied over the next 14 serves with the score sitting at 14 all.
- Virginia Wesleyan pull ahead slightly after a 5-2 run to lead 19-16, but Randolph-Macon came back strong on a 8-1 rally taking a 24-20 lead.
- The Marlins put together three in a row but RMC got the last point in to take set three 25-23 and a 2-1 lead in the match.
FOURTH SET
- The teams were again neck and neck through the early services of set four as the score sat knotted up at seven all after a Macon kill.
- A kill from Sydney Collins gave VWU a one point lead, 8-7, but RMC responded with a 5-1 run taking a 13-9 lead.
- The Marlins put down a pair of points to pull within two, 13-11, but the Yellow Jackets pulled away again on a 7-1 rally to lead 20-12.
- VWU added four more points in the set but Randolph-Macon closed out the set with five of their own to take set four 25-16, and the match 3-1.
