Box Score 2 LYNCHBURG, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's volleyball team defeated both the Wasps of Emory & Henry College and the WildCats of Randolph College in an ODAC doubleheader in Lynchburg, VA.

FIRST SET
- Set one began with the Marlins opening up an early 11-2 lead over the Wasps.
- E&H fought back to knot th score at 14 all following a 12-3 rally.
- Five consecutive VWU points, four kills and a Haley Sutton ace, put the Marlins up 19-14 forcing a Wasp timeout.
- The teams closed out the set on a 6-5 run led by VWU who claimed the opening set 25-19.
SECOND SET
- The teams were neck and neck tied at five all through the opening 10 services.
- Virginia Wesleyan took a four-point lead, 13-9, before Emory & Henry climbed back ti knot the score at 15 all.
- The score tied again at 18 all and 20 all, but VWU closed out the set with five straight points to take set two 25-20 and the match lead 2-0.
THIRD SET
- Emory & Henry held the early lead in the third set untli the Marlins knotted the score at nine all.
- Following tthe tie, VWU went on an 8-1 rally and closed out the match with another 8-5 run winning the third set 25-15 and the match 3-0.

- Virginia Wesleyan held an early 6-2 lead but Randolph clawed back to knot the score at seven all.
- The Marlins went up 11-8 before the WildCats came within one, 11-10, but VWU pulled away closing out the set on a 14-4 run winning set one 25-14.
SECOND SET
- The two squads sat tied six all through the first 12 services before RC took a three-point lead, 13-10, following a 7-4 run.
- Randolph went ahead by seven, 20-13, following a 7-3 rally, but Virginia Wesleyan fought back to take a 25-24 lead after a 12-4 run.
- RC closed the set with three points to take the second set 27-25 and even the match score at one set each.
THIRD SET
- VWU opened the third set with a 6-2 lead and extended it to 14-5 following an 8-3 run.
- The WildCats pulled within six, 15-9, but that was the closest they could get as the Marlins closed the set on a 10-5 run to take set three 25-14.
FOURTH SET
- The Marlins again held the early lead 9-3 through the opening serves.
- VWU's lead increased to 10 points, 16-6, after a 7-3 run.
- Randolph scored four-points late in the set, but VWU held on to win the fourth set 25-14 and the match 3-1.
