Box Score 2 WINCHESTER, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan baseball team dropped both games in their two game series against the Hornets of Shenandoah University in an ODAC doubleheader at in Winchester, VA.

GAME RUNDOWN
- Game one began with the Hornets putting 12 runs on the board in the opening three frames while holding the Marlins to just three hits.
- VWU found the scoreboard in the top of the fourth as Tyriq Campbell scored after reaching third on a double by Connor Hall and coming home during Matt Dagostino's at-bat.
- The Marlins held SU off the board in the bottom of the fourth and responded in the top of the fifth with another run scored by Ryan Ballard who came home on a Miles Christian double to right field.
- Shenandoah took a 13-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth after adding a solo run but Virginia Wesleyan answered back with a run in the top of the sixth as Dagostino scored off a single by Ballard putting the score at 13-3.
- The Hornets put another three runs up against the Marlins in the bottom of the sixth, including a 2 RBI homer, taking a 16-3 lead.
- The remaining two and a half innings were scoreless for both teams as the Hornets went on to win game one.

- The Marlins got the scoring going first in game two as Jake Ness homered over the right field wall.
- After a scoreless second inning for both teams, Virginia Wesleyan added a second run as Ness again crossed home plate after reaching base on a double to right.
- VWU added two more runs in the fourth inning as Matt Sinko homered over the left field wall driving in two runs, Samuel Kasprow and himself.
- Two more runs were scored by the Marlins in the top of the fifth as a triple by Matt Dagostino drove home Tyriq Campbell and Connor Hall to go ahead 6-0.
- Shenandoah broke through in the bottom of the sixth to score a pair of runs putting the score at 6-2.
- SU added one run in each the seventh and eighth innings pulling within two of VWU, 6-4.
- The Hornets came back in the bottom of the ninth with a walkoff single that scored the third run of the inning giving the home team a 7-6 win.

Virginia Wesleyan returns to action on Tuesday, March 30, when they head up to the greater Richmond area to face the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College in a single midweek ODAC contest. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
