- Two innings later, Dylan Gentry singled to second base and scored Sam Kasprow and Ryan Ballard to put the score at 3-0.
- Two more runs were scored in the fourth inning as both Gentry and Miles Christian scored on wild pitches from the Royals pitcher to put the Marlins ahead 5-0.
- Tyriq Campbell tripled dow the right field line on the bottom of the fifth to clear the bases scoring Kasprow and Gentry putting VWU up 7-0 and Campbell scored shortly after on a wild pitch putting th score at 8-0.
- The Umpires and coaches called the game after the fifth inning due to darkness giving VWU their first win of the season.
