Roberts Repeats as ODAC Field Athlete of the Week

FOREST, Virginia - Virginia Wesleyan University's Geni Roberts of the men's track and field team was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference field athlete of the week for the second consecutive week following a record breaking performance at the East Coast Invitational this past weekend in Virginia Beach, VA.

Roberts took second in the men's long jump at the East Coast Invitational with a mark of 7.07M. The sophomores jump broke a seven year old record of 7.05M formerly held by Ethan Fowlkes set at the Dennis Craddock Invite in 2014. Roberts' distance still keeps him atop the TFRRS.org performance list for Division III athletes.

The Athlete of the Week honor is the second of the 2021 season for the sophomore and third of his career. Last season Roberts garnered All-American status, All-Region and All-State honors, and he was the ODAC's 2019-20 Indoor T&F Rookie of the Year.
