Box Score ASHLAND, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's basketball team fell to the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College 74-58 on Sunday afternoon in Ashland, VA. VWU moves to 3-5 on the season and 3-1 in ODAC competition while RMC moves to 8-0 and 5-0 on the season.

INSIDE THE SCORE
The game began with RMC taking the early lead on three-pointer 21 seconds into the game. VWU got on the board with a layup by Lamont Steward. The Yellow Jackets added another basket but the Marlins scored seven straight to take a 9-5 lead with 15:42 on the clock. The lead exchanged hands three times before Randolph-Macon took the lead on a pair of free throws to go up 14-11. A Yellow Jacket three extended the lead to six but the Marlins scored seven in a row to take an 18-17 lead with 9:38 to play in the half. RMC reclaimed the lead, this time for good, and went on a 21-13 run to close out the half leading 38-31 at the buzzer. 

Randolph-Macon held an average lead of 10 points the entirety of the second half with Virginia Wesleyan climbing as close as eight points, 48-40 (12:43), on three free throws from Corey Pelham. VWU added 18 points the remainder of the game but could not catch the Yellow Jackets who closed the contest with 26 more points to win 74-58. 

VIRGINIA WESLEYAN LEADERS
The Marlins were led by Corey Pelham with 18 points. Tim Fisher added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Tyree Golston and Lamont Steward with 10 points each. Miles Wallace was the last of the Marlins to score any points contributing eight in the contest.

RANDOLPH-MACON LEADERS
The Yellow Jackets were led by Miles Mallory and Buzz Anthony with 15 points each. Josh Talbert contributed 11 points and Lorenzo Woods put up 10.
