FOREST, Virginia - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released the 2021-22 men's basketball pre-season coaches poll and the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan were selected to finish the 2021-22 season third behind the Yellow jackets of Randolph-Macon College and the Roanoke College Maroons.

Virginia Wesleyan kicks off the season tomorrow, November 5th, with the TowneBank Tipoff Tournament. The Marlins will be the first NCAA Division III game of 2021-22 season as they take on their North Carolina cousins the Battling Bishops of NC Wesleyan College at 12:30 PM in TowneBank Arena in Virginia Beach, VA.
The 2021-22 slate consists of 25 games with 14 being home contests and 11 road games. Sixteen of the seasons games will be against ODAC conference opponents with the remaining nine coming against non-conference opponents highlighted by Division I crosstown neighbor Old Dominion University on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
The Marlin squad this year is deep with 21 players composed of seven seniors, four juniors, a trio of sophomores, and a half dozen first years. Highlighting the 2021-22 roster are returning All-ODAC honorees
