Box Score GREENSBORO, North Carolina - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team collected their sixth shut out of the season with a 4-0 win over the Quakers of Guilford College on Saturday evening, October 9, at Armfield Athletic Center in Greensboro, NC.

FIRST HALF

• The teams took about 15 minutes to get acquainted before the Marlins struck scoring their first goal in the 17th minute of action as Scott Signorelli put in his fifth goal of the season off an assisted pass from Nate Mitchell. 
• VWU struck again about 20 minutes later as Noah McBride passed the ball to Josh Condit who found the back of the net to give Virginia Wesleyan a 2-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

SECOND HALF

• The Marlins kept the train going in the second half as 17 minutes into the return of action, Signorelli struck again from about 20 yards out to give VWU a 3-0 lead.
• Virginia Wesleyan scored its last goal with about 15 minutes to play as Alex Moody curved the ball around a wall off a free kick to score in the top left corner of the goal.
• Guilford did get two great attempts off in the final fifteen, including a penalty kick that Griffin Potter made a fantastic save on, and a shot that hit the crossbar, but found no luck scoring one against the Marlins. 

KEY STATS

• Scott Signorelli led the Marlins with two goals on two shots. 
• Griffin Potter played 90 minutes in goal picking up the win (W: 7-1-3) making seven saves while in net.
