Box Score HARRISONBURG, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's volleyball team dealt the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University their first ODAC loss of the season with a three set sweep on Tuesday evening in Harrisonburg, VA.

MATCH RECAP
The two teams traded points through the opening services with Eastern Mennonite holding a one point lead 7-6 following a kill. The Marlins responded with a 10-2 rally taking a seven point lead, 16-9, forcing the Royals to call timeout. The squads traded the next five points before VWU put together a string of five taking a 23-12 lead. Both teams scored twice more as the Marlins took set one 25-14.
EMU held the early 5-2 lead to begin the second set, but VWU responded with a 5-1 run taking a 7-6 lead. The Royals reclaimed a slim one-point lead, 11-10, but a Marlins 6-1 rally forced the Royals into another timeout to regroup as VWU led by four, 16-12. After a 4-2 Marlin run, VWU held a six-point advantage and maintained the lead through the remainder of the set taking the second game 25-18.
Virginia Wesleyan opened the third set with a 6-3 run and led 10-6 as Eastern Mennonite called timeout. Another 6-3 run by he Marlins gave them an eight-point lead, 16-8, forcing yet another Royal timeout. EMU put together a 5-3 run climbing within six points, 19-13, but VWU closed out the third and final set with a 6-2 rally winning 25-15.
