Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team shutout the Royals of Regent University 5-0 on Sunday afternoon, October 3, at Foster Field in Virginia Beach, VA. Five different Marlins scored in the victory.

FIRST HALF
- The teams took twenty minutes to settle in before the first score of the game occurred with Evan Kastetter finding the back of the net to put the Marlins on the board first in the 21st minute.
- About ten minutes later, VWU struck again as Jake Petterson scored off a pass from Justin Frick to go up 2-0.
- The Marlins added one more goal before the half as Josh Condit put the ball in the back of the net giving VWU a 3-0 lead at the break.
SECOND HALF
- After coming out of the halftime break, only seven minutes passed before VWU found its fourth goal of the game off the foot of Hector Quinteros following a free kick.
- Another 30 minutes passed before the final goal of the game was scored, this time from Matthew Goldberg off a pass from Kastetter.
KEY STATS
- The Marlins out shot the Royals 46 to 5.
- Jordan Smith picked up the win (W: 1-0-0) in goal playing 54 minutes making two saves.
