Box Score ASHLAND, Virginia - The Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team fell to the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon, October 20, at R-MC Soccer Field in Ashland, VA.

FIRST HALF

• The teams took about 25 minutes or so to get settled in an feel the other team out before the first goal was scored. Randolph-Macon found the back of the net first with a goal in the 28th minutes taking the 1-0 advantage. 
• About eight minutes later in the 36th minute, the Marlins found an equalizer as Alex Moody scored off a pass from Hector Quinteros to knot the score at one all.
• The teams remained tied through the end of the first and headed into the hlaftime break with the score at 1-1.

SECOND HALF

• After a little over 10 minutes in the return to play, Randolph-Macon found their second goal, ultimately the game-winner, in the 57th minute to take a 2-1 lead. 
• The Marlins fought to even out the score but ran out of time despite getting seven shots off in the second half.

KEY STATS

• Alex Moody led the team with seven shots in the match with three coming on frame including the lone Marlin goal.
• Griffin Potter played all 90 minutes in the net taking the loss (L: 9-2-4, 3-1-3) giving up the two goals while also making six saves.

Virginia Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday, October 23, as they travel to Bridgewater, VA to face the Eagles of Bridgewater College. The ODAC matchup between the Marlins and Eagles is set to kick off at 4 PM.
